Code, model and service licensing

Stock access follows the account's license. Microsoft permits licensed stock inside videos exported from Clipchamp for commercial or non-commercial use; underlying stock files cannot be redistributed, sold, shared or reused in other editors. This does not clear rights in your own uploads. Work/school use remains subject to organizational policy.

Basis and limits of the recorded score

The existing 4.4 rating is retained; its original scoring evidence is not recorded. This documentation review does not re-score the product or establish editing quality, caption accuracy or comparative performance.

Overview

Clipchamp combines timeline editing, screen/camera recording and stock media in a desktop browser or its Windows app. Autocaptions produce editable transcripts and SRT files. Personal auto compose assembles supplied photos and clips into a draft; eligible work accounts can use Copilot to draft a script, voiceover and stock-footage video. These are different workflows, and drafts need review.

Choose the account before starting: personal and work/school projects are separate and cannot currently be transferred between versions. Work access requires an eligible license and administrator enablement; projects and media live in OneDrive/SharePoint. Preview and export run locally, but backup, sharing and AI services can use the cloud; autocaptions send audio to Azure. A Windows app does not establish offline operation or IT approval.
