Decision notes

Official-document research

Based on the cited documentation. We did not use the product, purchase a plan, or run quality, speed or reliability tests in this review.

Consider it for

  • Developers who can inspect graph coverage and model routing

Choose another approach if

  • Assuming every graph, assistant and cloud feature is offline or formally correct

Pricing and conditions

Documented terms

The CLI has no account requirement or license fee; model/hardware costs remain. Hosted Free has 3 repositories. Pro is $15 monthly or $120/year ($10 monthly equivalent). Teams needs 2 seats minimum: first-100-team offer $29/seat monthly or $240/seat/year (equivalent $20), then $40 monthly or $336/year (equivalent $28). Offer availability, ISO currency behind $, tax and regional total are unconfirmed. Trials require a card; OSS/startup offers require qualification. The ToS generally says monthly billing while pricing explicitly offers annual; confirm the selected order and renewal. Enterprise deployment/price is quoted.

Code, model and service licensing

v8 is Apache-2.0 with notice/change obligations; NOTICE preserves older MIT contributions under MIT. Hosted APIs/platform and the proprietary JetBrains plugin have separate rights. Hosted terms retain customer ownership of content/graphs, service-purpose processing and no model training on content; connected assistants follow their own terms. Hosted privacy names OpenAI/Anthropic processing, active-system deletion within 30 days after deletion/closure, rolling 90-day backups and up to 12-month logs. These are vendor policies, not a verified zero-retention guarantee. v8 local semantic processing follows its configured assistant/backend, so on-device code parsing cannot be generalized to all inputs, model licenses or output rights.

Basis and limits of the recorded score

The existing 4.5 editorial score is retained without its original scoring worksheet. This document review did not re-score or measure performance.

Overview

Graphify's current default v8 branch builds queryable graphs from source and related materials. Its CLI parses code locally with tree-sitter and exposes query, path and explain commands plus assistant/MCP integrations. Relationships are labeled as extracted or inferred; that provenance does not prove that every dependency or answer is correct.

Separate the local code-only path from optional semantic processing and cloud. Documents/PDFs/images can reach the chosen assistant or model backend, whereas the code-only extraction path needs no model key. The CLI also records local query metadata unless disabled. Cloud adds shared continuously maintained graphs and paid features under its own terms; the Apache code grant does not cover the whole hosted service or proprietary IDE plugin.

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • Local code-only graph construction
  • Relationship provenance and graph queries

Cons

  • Semantic and hosted paths can send content externally
  • Hosted terms and pricing differ on monthly/annual wording

Who it's for

02

Shared graph context for coding assistants

Bottom line

Evaluate the local CLI separately from Cloud, and choose semantic backends explicitly before indexing confidential documents.
