Overview
LibreChat is the power-user answer to vendor fragmentation: one self-hosted interface where your OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral and local-model accounts live side by side. Switch mid-conversation, compare answers side by side, and keep every transcript in one searchable place — your API keys, your server, your data.
Beyond chat it grew agent features (tools, RAG over uploaded files), code execution and artifacts, with OAuth/LDAP making it deployable across a whole organization. Compared with Open WebUI (Ollama-first simplicity), LibreChat is the multi-provider power tool with more configuration surface; both are excellent, and the choice is mostly about whether local models or provider breadth is the center of gravity. For individuals and teams tired of copying prompts between vendor tabs, it is the permanent fix.
