Magnific is not an upscaler in the Photoshop sense — it is a re-imaginer. Where classic tools interpolate pixels, Magnific generates new detail consistent with the image's subject and style, with a “hallucination” dial that trades accuracy for invented texture. Portrait photographers, concept artists and game studios use it to turn rough renders and AI drafts into finished, print-resolution work.

Since joining Freepik, its tech has spread into a broader creative stack (Freepik's upscaling and Mystic pipeline), but the standalone app remains the deepest implementation: per-mode tuning, style transfer and relighting. It is priced for professionals and disciplined around one job — if you need believable detail added to images you already like, nothing else matches it; if you need faithful 1:1 enlargement, use a conventional upscaler.
