Hosted terms assign the vendor's rights in suggestions but do not clear third-party rights and prohibit regulated sensitive information. The vendor says hosted request content is not trained or retained after completion, while providers may keep security logs. Account/billing/usage metadata and website analytics remain; voluntarily uploaded diagnostic bundles have a separate 60-day retention. Overview
Copilot V4 brings agents into an Obsidian vault to inspect notes, use tools and create files under user-controlled permissions. Projects, skills, commands and Quick Ask organize context and repeatable tasks. Agent backends run local processes and require desktop; some chat and command features remain available on mobile.
Vault storage and model processing are different. Free users can connect their own provider key, local model or supported agent account; Plus adds hosted models and cloud tools with limits. Review agent write permissions and every route before sending private notes. A local file does not make an external model or CLI account local-only.
