Overview
The current OpenHands repository is Agent Canvas, a browser control center that connects to local, remote, Cloud or Enterprise agent backends and automations. Agent execution and the canonical server API now live in the separate Software Agent SDK repository. Documentation distinguishes the archived legacy backend and deprecated old Local GUI from active Canvas development; the CLI is described as feature-complete and primarily maintained for stability.
Choose an execution boundary deliberately. A host-run agent can read/write files, execute commands and reach the network. A Docker or per-conversation sandbox does not automatically isolate every Canvas/automation component, connected tool or shared workspace. Review credentials, network exposure, backups and model-provider data paths. No deployment or task was executed in this review.
