Seedance is ByteDance's video generation model family, published under its Seed research label with the claims you would expect — smooth and stable motion, native multi-shot storytelling rather than one continuous shot, stylistic range, and precise prompt following. It also ships the evaluation apparatus in public, publishing a SeedVideoBench suite and pointing at third-party leaderboards such as the Artificial Analysis video arena.

The reason to pay attention is distribution rather than novelty: a video model from ByteDance arrives with the company's existing consumer and cloud surfaces behind it, which is how most people will reach it whether or not they choose to. That also means the practical questions are about access and terms rather than capability — where it is available, at what price, and under what content rules — and those vary by region.
