The open-source repository that carried the original reviewer is still maintained, but it is no longer the product. No lifecycle review is recorded for this listing. Overview

Sweep is no longer the tool this listing describes. The GitHub app that turned labelled issues into tested pull requests has been retired: the sweepai/sweep repository now opens with a short notice thanking users for their support and pointing at the team's actual product, an AI coding assistant for IntelliJ-based IDEs. On the JetBrains Marketplace that plugin is 'Sweep: AI Autocomplete & Coding Agent' — free to install, 68,600 downloads, 1.29.x — and its pitch is next-edit completion, where Tab accepts a predicted edit elsewhere in the file rather than the text at your cursor. Sweep AI, Inc. of San Francisco publishes it; the listing names no source repository.

Judgement: the open code is dormant and its licence moved under your feet. The repository has no commits after 18 September 2025, its newest GitHub release still dates from September 2023, and the license file is now a Sweep Enterprise Edition notice — production or commercial use requires a paid enterprise subscription for the right number of seats, and only the parts the company ships as Free Software stay MIT. Self-hosting the old issue-to-PR bot is therefore not a free path; the shipping product is proprietary hosted software whose terms are a ToS PDF. Marketplace support stops at 2025.3 IDE builds and the backing models are the vendor's to change. Pick it in an IntelliJ shop that wants inexpensive next-edit completion; pick something else if you came for the autonomous junior developer.
