Overview
Tripo provides a browser-based Studio and a separate developer API for generating 3D models from text or images. These are different purchasing and workflow choices: a Studio subscription is not an API credit balance. The API documentation distinguishes P1-20260311 from H3 versions rather than promising one identical output across every model generation. Before offering the foundation-model service to third parties or end users, check the written authorization required by Terms 3.2; API documentation alone is not that authorization.
The documented workflow includes textured meshes, optional PBR materials and format conversion. Conversion starts from API GLB output; OBJ and STL do not support rigged exports, and STL drops textures. Remeshing can remove skeletal data, so finish mesh edits before rigging. These are format and pipeline capabilities, not evidence that every generated object is production-ready or printable.
Use the documentation to choose a version, then inspect sample topology, scale, UVs and exported files against your own engine or printer requirements before purchasing at volume.
